The South Swedish Rally, \u201cThe Grand Finale \u2013 Real Rally\u201d, wrapped up the Swedish Rally Championship on 12 and 13 September. The event began with a shakedown on Friday, followed by nine competitive stages on Saturday. With the season\u2019s titles on the line, the stakes were high, and the weekend delivered plenty of excitement, drama, and unexpected turns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4WD Category<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the 4WD class, Toyota driver Dennis R\u00e5dstr\u00f6m and co-driver Sunniva Rudi came into the final with a strong lead after three victories in four earlier rounds. R\u00e5dstr\u00f6m started the rally with a 22-point lead, but his main rival Kalle Gustafsson was determined to fight until the very end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of five starters, only two cars managed to complete the rally. Gustafsson and his co-driver Tom T\u00f6rngren took the rally win with a time of 1:02:56.4, ahead of R\u00e5dstr\u00f6m and Rudi, who finished second, +1:29.5 behind. Despite Gustafsson\u2019s victory, the points were not enough to overtake R\u00e5dstr\u00f6m, who secured the 2025 Swedish Championship title with 123.5 points compared to Gustafsson\u2019s 109.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Nyd\u00e9n, who had also been in the title hunt, showed early speed by winning the opening stage. Unfortunately, a mechanical failure forced him to retire on Stage 4, leaving him third overall in the championship standings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2WD Category<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 2WD class had been the most unpredictable going into the final. Only six points separated the top three drivers: Liam Berg led with 59 points, followed closely by Patrik Flodin and Patrik Dybeck. With the competition so tight, it was clear that whoever reached the finish first would likely be crowned champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the rally proved unforgiving. Patrik Flodin crashed on Stage 4, ending his hopes of a championship victory. He finished the season fourth overall. Patrik Dybeck also suffered misfortune, going off on Stage 8. That incident dropped him from third to fifth in the championship standings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This left Liam Berg in control. By simply finishing the rally, he was able to secure enough points to claim the 2025 Swedish 2WD Championship. Berg crossed the line in second place, behind rally winner Patrik Hallberg and just ahead of Elliot Sj\u00f6gren, who completed the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
