Josh McErlean will join the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team for the 2025 WRC season, marking his Rally1 debut. The 25-year-old will compete in a Ford Puma Rally1 at all events next year, starting with the Monte Carlo Rally in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M-Sport previously indicated they would announce another rising junior driver, and today, they confirmed McErlean as the second driver alongside Gr\u00e9goire Munster for the 2025 season. McErlean, who finished ninth in WRC2 this year with a podium finish at Rally Portugal, will be Munster\u2019s teammate throughout the 14-round championship. He will be paired with co-driver Eoin Treacy, as they embark on their first season at the top level of rallying with support from the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McErlean expressed his excitement, calling the opportunity a \u201cdream come true.\u201d He shared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDriving the Puma Rally1 in the World Rally Championship next year is something I\u2019ve always aimed for. The chance to compete at this level is incredibly exciting, and I\u2019m thrilled to be part of such a professional and committed team. M-Sport Team Principal Richard Millener praised McErlean\u2019s potential, stating: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
