Jos Verstappen, former Formula 1 competitor from 1994 to 2003 and father of four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen, is set to embark on his most ambitious rally season yet. In 2025, he will compete in a full European Rally Championship (ERC) while continuing his commitments in the Belgian Rally Championship (BRC).
Since making the switch to rallying in 2022, the 52-year-old Dutchman has quickly made a name for himself, securing 10 overall victories in just 38 events. Now, he is preparing for a packed schedule of up to 20 rallies across Europe, including his first full ERC season.

Discussing his intense 2025 calendar, Verstappen shared: “This year, I’ve got 19 or 20 events planned: every BRC rally, every ERC rally, the Rallye International du Valais, and a historic rally in Sweden. And we’re also doing the East African Safari Classic Rally with the Porsche. We have an insanely beautiful programme.”
He also expressed his passion from rallying, saying, “I’m glad I found rallying. It gives me a huge drive again and a clear goal. I love doing it, not just the driving, but also the communication with my co-driver.”
Since his debut in rallying, Verstappen has demonstrated impressive pace, achieving significant success in the BRC. However, competing against seasoned ERC contenders will be his toughest test yet.
The ERC season kicks off with Spain’s Rally Sierra Morena on 4-6 April 2025.
